The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Chairman DTF Kohima, Mohammed Ali Shihab A in his office chamber on 29th October 2020.</p> <p>Chairing the meeting, DC appreciated the tireless efforts contributed by all DTF members especially the medical teams in combating the COVID-19 pandemic and bringing the district thus far. He encouraged every members to continue with the good work and fight collectively to contain the spread of infection in the district. He also called upon the members to focus on election related activities and perform respective roles as per the ECI guidelines and further urged the members to be prepared with the post-election plan. </p> <p>The meeting deliberated on the new challenges with regard to surge in covid positive cases in the district, where CMO Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu apprised the members on the present status of positive cases been reported from the block levels besides the town. She also pointed out that strategic planning for medical teams from the blocks who have been engaged in taking care of quarantine centres till date, needs to be worked out to enable them to resume back their works in their respective assigned blocks for early detection of the infection.</p> <p>DSO Kohima, Dr. Aseno also informed that considering the spike of positive cases outside the quarantine centres,  the department is giving priority for early testing and early detection of positive cases in order to contain the spread of infection in the district.</p> <p>With regard to the conduct of safe election in the district, ADC Kohima Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa informed that various activities relating to election process have being conducted till date as per the ECI guidelines by maintaining all the safety protocols. She also informed that Postal Ballots from senior citizens, People with Disabilities and positive persons under the constituency were collected by the election officials on 28th and 29th Oct. 2020. More sensitization and awareness on precautionary measures and safety protocols will be disseminated through public announcement and also sensitization of Polling Stations and other measures will be carried out before the day of the poll, ADC informed.</p> <p>Dy. CMO Kohima, Dr. Rupert Peseyie and Drug Inspector Kohima, Ethungbemo Ezung also shared on the set up of medical teams put in place in each villages under the constituency.
