In Longleng, the 12th National Voters’ Day was observed at DC's Conference Hall on 25th January 2022 under the theme "Making our voters empowerment, vigilant, safe and informed."

In his short speech, the Deputy Commissioner & DEO, Longleng, M. Shayung Phom spoke on the significance and importance of observing the National Voters’ Day. He asserted that on this day, every voter needs to understand whom to vote and the benefits of their voting rights, to bring social change and development. Therefore, the DC urged the gathering to take a strong resolution with commitment and take right decision on this day to elect qualified and efficient leaders and contribute in the nation building through their franchise.

In order to disseminate the voters' empowerment message to the marginal sections of people living in the rural areas, the DC suggested to observe the National Voters’ Day in the sub-divisions and blocks in the coming years. At the same time, he also urged the gathering to disseminate the Voters' Day message back to their community and to exercise their franchise for change and development of our community and to stop proxy voting.

The ADC & Electoral Registration Officer, Longleng, D. Robin lauded the two best BLOs for their dedication and devotion in their additional assignment and effort to have a genuine electoral roll. He gave away the best BLO award for 49 A/C Tamlu to T. Lome Phom of P/S no. 27, and for 50 A/C Longleng to K. Chauba Phom P/S no. 33. 

The two BLO awardees also shared their experiments and hardships to have a genuine E/roll. 

The program concluded with a vote of thanks and administering of pledge led by the chairperson Trongdiba T Sangtam, SDO (C), Longleng.
