NAGALAND STATE DISASTER MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY ISSUES HELPDESK NUMBERS

 

 

Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Sentiwapang Aier, has issued an office Memorandum stating that in the wake of extreme weather events, reports of devastating landslides, severe flashfloods, and disruption to road and transport communication have been reported in the State. The extreme weather events have rendered many families homeless requiring shelter and relief assistance.

DC PHEK ISSUES PUBLIC ADVISORY

 

 

Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, Phek, Rhosietho Nguori has informed that, in view of the monsoon rainfall experienced across Phek district, heavy rainfall is expected in lowlands and foothill areas of Phek district leading to possibility of water logging, flash flooding, landslides and rising water level in rivers and streams due to heavy precipitation in the catchment areas.

In a circular, the Deputy Commissioner Longleng W. Manpai Phom, has informed that in view of the recent incessant rainfall and continued weather conditions resulting in increased risk of landslides, flash floods, water logging and falling trees in multiple location under Longleng district, public are advised to remain alert and take necessary safety measures.

Manpai Phom has informed the general public of Longleng that the Nagaland State Transport (NST) Chopper Service from Dimapur-Longleng-Dimapur route operates every Thursday, as per the schedule notified by the Office of the General Manager, Nagaland State Transport, Dimapur.
