Second Carrom Championship 2026, under the District Public Relations Officer Mon was held on 9th October 2026 at DPRO Office Mon. EAC Mon, Shekhozo Vero, NCS graced the programme as a special guest, and expressed his gratitude to the DPRO Mon for the organising the tournament. He said that organizing a tournament of this kind is not just about playing a game; it is about bringing people together, building team spirit, and promoting healthy interaction among colleagues.
This event reflects the unity and cooperative spirit that the department upholds, as sports and recreation play a vital role in our professional and personal lives. It is an opportunity to interact beyond the work desks, get to know each other better, and to build lasting friendships. This tournament is a step towards a healthy work environment where colleagues can share both responsibilities and laughter. He encouraged every participant to play in the true spirit of sportsmanship, as winning is wonderful, but what matters most is participation, enjoyment, and the spirit of togetherness.
He also remarked that the DPRO office is like a window where one can see the picture of the district. The department’s role is not only passing on information, but also bringing understanding, and building a trustable relationship between the public and the government. He also cited the example of how information passed by the DPRO became a life-saver during the recent landslides in Mon, when there was no network. He then declared the tournament open.
DPRO Mon, Meyisusu Jamir delivered the vote of thanks and distributed the prizes. In the Single category the winner and runner-up were Nyangpong and Phukhin respectively. In Doubles category, Meyisusu Jamir and A. David Konyak were the winners, and Yokngeng and John Konyak were the runner-ups.
