As part of the Hornbill festival 2021, the 9th Annual Hornbill Cycle Rally was flagged off today the 5th December 2021 by the Joint CEO, Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) GoN, Johnny Ruangmei as the special guest.
The event was organised with the theme 'Go Green, Stay Fit, Reduce Carbon Emission', which aims to promote Go-Green initiatives, tourism and introduce cycling as a professional sport in Nagaland.
Flagging off the rally, Johnny said that the steps taken today by the participants would help in the environment health of our planet. "We have only one liveable planet i.e. the planet Earth, and the participants of today's event would hugely contribute in the well being and health of the planet Earth where all human race live", he added that it would enable the human race to breathe a much healthier air.
Around 50 cyclists participated at the rally passing through the crowded streets of State capital covering a total distance of 13 km from Kohima Local Ground area to Kisama Heritage Village.
The event was organised by Alaphra Group and endorsed & sponsored by the department of Tourism, GoN with NSDMA as supporting partners.
