The Day 5 of the Cultural Extravaganza from the Tribes of Nagaland organised by the Department of Art & Culture witnessed performance by the State Partner of the 25th Hornbill Festival 2024, Sikkim showcasing the Integration Dance, highlighting Sikkim as the land of unity, peace and tranquillity where the mighty Kanchenjunga is revered and worshipped and where peace prevails above all at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, Kohima on 5th December 2024.
The morning Cultural Extravaganza was hosted by Minister, Housing & Mechanical Engineering, P Bashangmongba Chang and Co-Hosted by Advisor, Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guard & Civil Defence, S. Kiusumew Yimchunger and Chairman NIDC, Kvulo Lorin.
18 cultural troupes presented their unique cultural dances and songs beginning with Sumi Cultural Troupe performing Aphilo Kuwo (Warrior Dance), Sangtam Cultural Troupe showcasing Jümürü Mütsahba Sapan (soap making) and the Pochury Cultural Troupe with Hohidoh Hohidoh (folk song).
Lotha Cultural Troupe presented Ole-hoo (Action song), Phom Cultural Troupe showcased Chingtempe (stilt walking) and the Konyak Cultural Troupe demonstrated Kham shupu Hie Kham Kongpu/Moolao (log-drum pulling and beating).
Kachari Cultural Troupe performed Habling Dangbani (folk song), Yimkhiung Cultural Troupe performed Wochak Khüntong, a song sung during cultivation and Zeliang Cultural Troupe performed commemorative performance.
Tikhir Cultural Troupe presented Pow Pok khin (folk song), Garo Cultural Troupe demonstrated Rong Dea (stone lifting), and the Kuki Cultural Troup performed Zou-Lie Kon (folk dance),
Angami Cultural Troup presented a commemorative performance, Ao Cultural Troupe presented Traditional way of Tiger Hunting, Khiamniungan Cultural Troupe displayed Hang Tui (Friendship dance).
Chakhesang Cultural Troupe performed Chüsü Hoo (folk song), Chang Cultural Troupe presented Chishok Lamshok (Dance & Song of Peace Treaty) and Remgma Cultural Troupe demonstrated A-ccu Kekawa (Indigenous Game).
