The 7th NAP BN, Bhandari along with the rest of the police fraternity of the nation, observed the Police Commemoration Day at the Unit Police Memorial Complex, 7th NAP BN, Bhandari, Wokha on 21st October 2024.
Commandant 7th NAP Bhandari, Menangmeren NPS, who reviewed the parade and highlighted on the significance of the day, recalled the memory of how the 10 brave police officers sacrificed their lives while defending the Indian borders with China, at Hot Springs, Ladakh, in the year 1959. He also said that this year, a total of 214 police officers across the nation have laid down their lives in the line of duty, including 4 from Nagaland Police.
"On this solemn occassion of the Police Commemoration day, we befittingly pay our respect and salute the bravery and selfless sacrifices made by the Police Officers or Jawans on the line of duty", he said, and added that all rank and file and all Police personnel should continue to serve the nation diligently.
During the ceremony, commemoration parade was held which was followed by laying of wreaths. The programme was attended by district administrative officers, public leaders, NGOs, Village Councils, students and family members of the unit.
