Startup Innovation Challenge Competition 2025 was held at Handloom & Craft Pavilion, Naga Heritage Village, Kisama. Kohima on 8th December. The event was organised by Educentre School of Business under its Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) program, with the theme “Innovate, Build and Pitch.” The initiative aimed to inspire students to build creative prototypes and explore their entrepreneurial potential.
Speaking at the event, P. Tokugha Sema, Director, Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland, emphasized the importance of building a strong vision among aspiring entrepreneurs and young people. He highlighted that entrepreneurship is a life long journey that requires commitment, passion, and perseverance. He encouraged youth to focus on growth, stating that success is achieved by striving to improve every day.
He also stated that one of the key priorities of the department is to promote innovation and encourage the establishment of Innovation Centres across all districts, ensuring that young people have access to opportunities, mentorship, and the right platforms to develop and transform their ideas.
Prior to the final evaluation, Shortlisted teams from Six colleges namely Kohima College, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama, C-Edge College, Eastern Christian College, Peren Government College, and Sao Chang Collegewere given 10 days to test their products in the market before presenting their business ideas to the jury.
Sole Buddy (Aston) from Kohima College emerged as the Winner, while Skill Lancing from St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama and Solution Centre from C-Edge College were awarded 1stand 2nd Runner-up respectively.
The winning team received a cash prize of ₹25,000, along with a trophy and certificates presented by the Department of Industries & Commerce and Start-up Nagaland.
