A State Level competition on various Naga indigenous games was held as part of the Hornbill Festival on 6th December 2025 at NSF Solidarity Park, Kohima.

The event saw the participation of various tribal communities in the Tribal Catapult Target Hitting Competition and Tribal Spear Throw Competition.

The competition was organised on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh during the Hornbill Festival by the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Kohima, Department of Tribal Affairs, and funded by the TRI Division, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi.

In the Catapult Competition, defending champion Shangtok Phom from the Phom tribe emerged as the winner, while Zulutoshi from the Ao tribe and Jill Sangma from the Garo tribe secured the second and third positions respectively.

In the Spear Throw Competition, S. Buktok of the Phom tribe clinched the championship title, while Khiti Kath of the Rengma tribe and Zulutoshi of the Ao tribe bagged the second and third positions respectively.
