Observing World Mental Health month with the theme "Its time to prioritise mental health at the work place," a one day seminar on Mental Health for the Officers and staff of Water Resources Department (WRD) was held at Chief Engineer Office Conference Hall, Kohima on 29th October 2024.

Chief Engineer, WRD, Er. K. Hutoi Sema, in his keynote address said that mental health is as important as any infrastructure and reminded the officials, that taking care of one's mental health is like maintaining a Dam and if we ignore or don't check a little crack in the dam, it will create a huge problem downstream, therefore, it is very crucial to keep check of those cracks likewise if we don't have a stable mental health it will create hindrances in our works. He further said that balanced mental health helps to flow our productivity and creativity in our assignments and therefore urged the officers and staff to keep balanced mental health since mental health is as important as physical health.

The resource persons from the day's program were Lovitoli Awomi, Counselling Psychologist, Founder, Lapiye Centre for Mental Well-being, Chumoukedima and Rev. Fr. Joe Mariadhas, Director, Shalom Rehabilitation Centre, Chumoukedima, who highlighted Perceived Stress, Emotional Intelligence and Mental Health at Work Place respectively. The program was chaired by Er. Wapangnaro Imchen, Executive Engineer, WRD.
