Aadhaar centre in Longleng was launched at DC’s office on 15th January 2022. Deputy Commissioner Longleng, M. Shayung Phom in his speech asserted that opening of Aadhaar centre was necessary to avoid misunderstanding in the fees charged and to avoid any problem in the future; one administrative officer was assigned to look into the affairs of the Aadhar centre to redress any issue. He urged the NGOs to extend their cooperation to the centre and at the same time urged the Aadhaar supervisor to be sincere and render their best services to the people.
In his key note address, SDO (C) Longleng, Trongdiba T Sangtam highlighted the hardships faced by the district administration to reinstall the Aadhaar centre at DC office, Longleng due to various factors like clearance of pending telephone bills, connection of new internet facility, lockdown, etc. He informed that internet connectivity is expensive and therefore fee charged for Aadhaar enrolment or corrections would be little higher compared to normal fees charged in other districts for which he urged the NGOs and civil societies to understand the issue and disseminate the information to their respective jurisdiction.
DAO Longleng, Yongjang Phom spoke on the requirement of Aadhaar for beneficiaries in various central flagship programs and its other importance. He urged the gathering to provide right information during the Aadhaar enrollment.
Representation from PPC, Phomla Hoichem and President, All Ward Union extended their appreciation to the district administration for opening the Aadhaar centre and redressing the hardships of the people.
