Advisor to Chief Minister and Chairman of Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Abu Metha graced the inauguration programme of launching of dialysis and solar street light installation at District Hospital Mon as a special guest on 2nd September 2026 at District Hospital Conference Hall, Mon.
Speaking on the programme, the Special guest expressed his gratitude to all the medical fraternity, led by Medical Superintendent and Doctors for You, for organising this programme. He also appreciated the manner in which Mon District Hospital was operating and providing services to the citizens. He congratulated the medical fraternity in Mon for extending exemplary services to the citizens, setting the highest Standard for the rest of the medical fraternity. It is indeed an amendment in such a far-flung District, considered backward that this hospital is better appreciated than many hospitals in the state.
He appealed to all the citizens of the state to appreciate the health care workers as they are the ones taking care of the people. He added that they are the ones who have sleepless nights and do things which others don’t want to do. He cited that in many civilized and developing countries, health care workers have the highest regards and we need to inculcate such culture. Metha stated that health care is the foundation for any development and empowerment begins with good health. Unless a person has good health, one cannot achieve anything or step forward in any manner. Three fundamentals of empowerment are good health, good education and economic and employment opportunities, he said.
Metha also highlighted the initiative of IDAN and the state government, CMHIS and the Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative and SCK. He said that the state government aims to bring equitability development, connective progress across the state. He also congratulated the citizens of Eastern Nagaland, saying it’s on the verge of a historic landmark in the form of the formation of FNTA. He said that every citizen of the state is equal and they have to work together as one and march forward.
He thanked and congratulated the Doctors For You, for their exceptional work and added that he was looking forward to the continued partnership and collaboration to achieve the collective aim of serving the citizens of the state.
Later, Abu Metha inaugurated the Dialysis unit on PPP Model and Solar Street light installation in the District Hospital Mon Campus in the presence of DC Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS, SP Mon, Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, civil society leaders and the officials from District hospital Mon. He also Handed over the sanction letters to SCK Beneficiaries.
Sunny Borgohain of Doctors For You presented a short overview of the project, the activities and the environment under which they are working and the services being provided. Dr. Aman, Asst. Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Mon chaired the programme while vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Benchilo Ngullie, M.S. DH Mon.
Metha also visited the hospital and inspected the wards and campus.
