Advisor for Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan visited Aree Old and New village on 10th Dec 2020 along with Head of Offices of various government departments in the district. At Aree Old which is the Aspirational Village under his constituency, the Advisor held series of meeting with villagers to take stock of the status of implementation of various developmental programmes. He also visited various projects sites in the village before leaving for Aree New to have a similar meeting.

On 11th December 2020, the team led by the Advisor visited Okotso village and inaugurated Horticultural Link Road, Rural Market and the village Community Hall.

Addressing the gathering, Yanthan reminded the villagers to make best use of the rich natural resources with the support extended by the government through various departments’ programmers and policies and to be lured by the current trend of urban migration. The Advisor appreciated the villagers for successful implementation of the projects and hoped that the facilities developed will be utilized purposefully.

Later the Advisor attended the inaugural programme of the 30th Edition of Sungro Range Youth Sports Association meet 2020 as the special guest and declared the meet open. The Advisor and the visiting officials and team also undertook a trip to Hayili area under Pangti village for better understanding of the area vast potential and to visit the old abandoned irrigation project. The village elders present at the site made fervent appeal to help them revive cultivation by providing necessary facilities, to which the visiting team assured them of all possible support for reclamation of the abandoned fields and for productive utilization of the entire area.
