The monthly meeting of the Administrative Heads of Departments and Heads of Departments (AHODS/HODS) was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Nagaland, J Alam, IAS at the Secretariat Conference Hall on 4th November 2022.
The Chief Secretary congratulated all the departments for their active involvement during the visit of the President of India to Nagaland and stated that the President's Secretariat has acknowledged the grand reception accorded to the President of India. The Chief Secretary has also mentioned that the requisition of posts for direct recruitment through NPSC and NSSB has been circulated and urged those Departments that are yet to submit the list, to do at the earliest. He also added that departments need to identify upcoming vacancies caused due to retirement at least one year in advance for timely recruitment.
Chief Secretary Nagaland, J Alam IAS urged the Directorates of the Government Departments regarding the pension to take serious note of timely disbursal and to take steps for ensuring that all the paperwork is completed before the employee's retirement. Chief Secretary further stated that in the next meeting, with the participation of the Accountant General (AG), the pension matter will be further discussed.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reminded that with the launch of the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) all State Government employees are eligible beneficiaries and should register in the portal to avail the benefits of the scheme. In this regard, the Chief Secretary instructed the AHoDs and HoDs to get their staff registered at the earliest.
Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner, Sentiyanger Imchen IAS also apprised the AHODS & HODS regarding CMHIS and asked the Heads of Departments to initiate and assure all the employees under their departments are registered.
The Chief Secretary also instructed all to keep the Departmental websites regularly with well-structured and useful information on departmental activities. Alam urged the Government departments to take priority in responding to the letters in a time-bound manner to improve the official corresponding system between the Central Government and various Departments.
Chief Secretary also urged the AHODS & HODS to give importance to the pending court cases and ensure that contempt of court does not arise. The department of Disaster Management highlighted the upcoming programmes such as virtual orientation, Table talk exercise, and Mega mock exercise. Chief Secretary informed about the Chief Secretaries conference which will be held next year from 5th to 7th January 2023.
