            MLA, Toyang Chang while discussing on the Naga Political Issue matter highlighted the various problems created by the Naga conflict. He stressed on he need to rebuild and adapt to changes and move forward. Chang called upon everyone to be united and work with outmost sincerity.

            Along imna participating in the discussion expressed that it was heartwarming to see for the first time a yearning from among the Naga people for an early solution to the Naga Political issue and to see that the cry for an early and amicable solution is being heard from every nook and corner of our land. He acknowledged the positive efforts of the Government of Nagaland and considered the 15th October 2020 consultative meet and the adoption of the 7 point resolution as a leap in the right direction. He lamented over the lack of unity and the ensuing differences between the various stakeholders at this critical juncture. He further stressed on the need for our people to understand that the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not confused about the Naga Political issue but rather are determined to bring a solution to the issue and that they are clearly aware of the hardships faced by the Naga people and the sacrifice and struggle of our forefathers and ancestors. He also expressed his sadness on seeing the constant infighting between our own Naga people and the unwillingness to work together by the stakeholders towards a common goal and solution. In conclusion he called upon all the elected members to come together under the Joint Legislative Forum and intervene so that a peaceful and amicable solution is achieved at the earliest and that every elected member must consider it as his sacred duty to do so.

            Vikheho Swu participating in the discussion called for a different approach to dealing with the naga political issue and said that it was time for everyone to change their mindset and focus not on who is right but on what is right and what is good for the Naga people as a whole. He also emphasized on the need for human understanding and a human touch in bringing about a solution to the Naga political issue, to be more understanding towards each others’ needs and respect and honour one another. He also put emphasis on the need to reconstitute the Joint Legislative Forum so that the Legislators can make a meaningful contribution to the Indo Naga political issues at such a defining moment in Naga Political History.

            Dr. Chumben Murray also participating in the discussion said that the delay in bringing about a solution to the Naga Political issue is causing psychological damage in the society and stressed on the need to expedite the Naga peace process and that it is the duty of the elected members to ensure a positive outcome at the earliest. He also shed light on the current political scenario in South East Asia and said that India cannot afford to say that the ball is in the court of the Negotiators. He called for all the Legislators to stand united and come across party lines and work collectively and act as facilitators for a higher common cause. He concluded saying that the need of the hour was an Assembly Resolution in forming a Joint Committee with members from all parties to expedite the Naga Political Process.

            Phowang Konyak participating in the discussion on the naga political issue called upon all the naga people to unite so as to bring about an early naga solution. 

            He also urged all the seniors NLA members to come together in Joint Legislative Forum (JLF) and work together for an early naga solution. Konyak also highlighted in length the history of naga political issue.

            MLA Yitachu also taking part in the discussion said 'naga political issue is nothing but a fight to defend and secure naga history and naga identity for the future generations'. He added that naga people wanted a definite undiluted identity and through a peaceful representation. He stated that Nagas took up arm struggle in order to keep the history alive and to keep the identity for the younger generation.

            He stated that Naga Solution has to be based on to have our own identity and to pass it on to the younger generation. He called on all the elected members to be free from all prejudices while talking about naga political issues and to be more proactive. 

            Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation G Kaito Aye participating in the discussion said that at the present juncture people want peace and permanent solution. Therefore he called on the members to continue JLF and pursue together and not to capitalize the issues at one’s own interest. He further appealed to the GOI to expedite the ongoing naga political peace process.
