District Mission Authority Samagra Shiksha, Mon conducted a block-level assessment camp for Children with Special Needs (CwSNs) for both school-going Children and Out of school Children under Inclusive Education (IE) Mon from 17th to 22nd March at five different blocks.

The assessment camp was assisted by Soundbeatz Pvt Ltd New Delhi, TPORC Imphal, District medical staff, and personnel from State Mission Authority Samagra Shiksha Nagaland. The assessment camp mainly focused on Visual Impairment, Hearing Impairment, and Locomotor Impairment in the age group of 6-18.

The assessment camp was attended by 289 CwSNs out of which 140 turn up from Tobu block, 31 from Aboi block, 21 from Wakching block, 62 from Mon block, and 35 from Tizit block.

The CwSN identified during the assessment camp under Hearing Impairment in all the blocks received the hearing aids on the spot, while Children with Visual Impairment and Locomotor Impairment will be provided with spectacles, artificial limbs, and other appliances soon.
