Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) program, the Mahila Shakti Kendra & District administration, Longleng in collaboration with Nagaland State Aids Control Society, Longleng and Longleng Town Baptist Church conducted an awareness program on teenager pregnancy at Longleng Town Baptist Church on 13th November 2021 DSRC counselor, District Hospital, Lithei Phom and Literature Secretary PBCA Longleng, Chingong Phom as resource persons.

Lithei Phom emphasized on the three topics: definition, causes & prevention of teenagers pregnancy.  She said the main reasons for high rate of teenagers pregnancy is inadequate sex education and one absolute method to prevent pregnancy among teenagers is sexual abstinence.  

Chingong Phom spoke on moral ethics. She advised the students not to be influenced by the peer pressure/bad company, to choose healthy life, to avoid early marriages. Asserting that it will be difficult to live in a society where there is criticism for every little act, she challenged the students to be different & live life with dignity and achieve our goal with a difference.

Women Welfare Officer MSK-DLCW, Longleng,  P. Phungla encouraged the students to take such program seriously, and to think of themselves as most privileged & fortunate to be a part of such program, as there was no such activity conducted during those time. 

Around eight hundred students of various schools of Longleng town from age group of 13 to 19 years attended the awareness program.
