Awareness Training cum sensitization programme on COVID-19 for the Home Guards, Women Home Guards & State Disaster Response Force Personnel from the district establishment was held at the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Conference Hall, Mokokchung from 11th to 13th January 2021.
During a brief programme held on the first day, Dr. Kibangkumba, Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Dy. CMO) Mokokchung highlighted the importance of the sensitization training. As part of frontline workers, they were made to understand the need to be prepared for any situation arising out of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the need to stay safe from the disease so as to protect the population at large. Topics on Hand Washing, Handling of dead bodies, Preventive Measures, Rational use of PPE, Demonstration on donning/doffing of PPE (gloves, mask, full PPE etc.), Infection control, Preparation of bleach solution/Sodium Hypochloride and Laundry were imparted by the following resource persons Dr. Aonungdok, MMBS, PGDPHM, MPH (Epidemiology & Health Systems), Dr. Tsipongchem Sangtam, MD (Pathology) and Dr. Akumtemjen, District Epidemiologist and Dr. Tiasunep.
A total of 51 (fifty one) participants attended the 3 (three) days programme in 3 (three) different batches from the district establishment of HGs, CD & SDRF, Mokokchung. All SOPs/Guidelines on COVID-19 issued by the govt. was strictly observed.
