BRIEFING ON COVID-19 ON 17th OF SEPTEMBER 2020 FOR NAGALAND BY PRINCIPAL SECRETARY, HOME

The full text is as follows:

 

“A total of 43 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected today – 18 in Kohima, 24 in Dimapur and 1 in Mon. The total number of positive cases in the State now stands at 5,306.

Out of the 5,306 positive cases, the total recoveries so far are 4,079. The active cases are 1,193 and there have been10 deaths. As per the severity of symptoms, 1,163 active cases are asymptomatic, 27 active cases are mild and 3 active cases are moderate.

Further, out of the 5,306 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are: 2,484 cases of Armed Forces/ Police, 1,421 cases of Returnees, 322 cases of Frontline Workers and 1,079 cases of Traced Contacts.

A total of 45,626 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 44,997 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 25,888 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 25,881 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test, 1,199 samples have been tested.

A total 588 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.”
