The event was organized at Longsa and Wokha Village on 25th July 2022.

Addressing the gathering at Longsa Village, Advisor for Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan said because of the many schemes, policies, and initiatives of the Ministry of Power, electricity has now reached every nook and corner of the country. He urged the people to be responsible citizens by way of using power effectively, conservation of power, paying electricity bills on time, and taking proper care and ownership of properties to enable the Department to provide quality power supply.

Advisor for Law & Justice Dr. Chumben Murry, who graced the celebration as the special guest at Wokha village, stressed on judicious use of electricity as industrialization and development are only possible through effective utilization of electricity. He called upon the people to extend support and cooperation to the government and the power department so that various schemes and policies which target to uplift the well-being of the community can be implemented on time.

Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS said this day is celebrated to appreciate the achievements made over the years in the power sector, we have to realize how much effort has been put in to bring about progress and development by connecting electricity in all the households in the country which shows the commitment of the Government of India and the Ministry of Power.

            Motsuthung Shitio Manager, Doyang, District Nodal Officer NEEPCO gave the keynote address. The event also witnessed several beneficiaries sharing their experiences, and cultural programmes by Longsa village and Wokha village cultural troupes, nukkad nataks (One Act Play) by PowerHitz Suntsuo Memorial School and screening of short films on power sector were also displayed during the celebration.
