Ceremonial Attestation Parade for the 66th batch comprising of the 489 recruit constables was held on 3rd November 2021, at Nagaland Police Training School (NPTS) Parade Ground, Chumukedima.
Director General of Police, Nagaland, John Longkumer inspected the parade and took the salute from 16 parade contingents. He congratulated the newly graduated constables of the 66th Batch including the family members of the newly recruits terming the day as remarkable not only for the fresh recruits but also for the Nagaland Police family. With the training process over and oath of allegiance taken, Longkumer expressed happiness with the addition of 489 trained police personnel ready for duty. Describing police personnel as Peace Warriors, he reminded them about their pledge for restoring peace by maintaining law and order in the society. Emphasising on the importance of Community Oriented Policing, mutual self-respect and Discipline, the DGP said that promotions would be awarded based on performances. On the occasion he also cautioned the newly recruits not to misuse social media platforms. He congratulated the Principal NPTS, Aboli Metha, all the unit commanders, parade commanders, trainers, IGP training, DIG Training for the successful conduct of the program.
Principal NPTS, Aboli Metha administered the oath of allegiance to the new recruits. Giving a brief report of the training, Metha informed that 489 new recruits including 85 women constables were given training relating to physical training, drills, weapon handling, investigation subjects and awareness programmes on various topics. The educational qualification of the newly recruits included 6 post graduates, 78 graduates, 66 HSSLC, 133 matriculates and 206 under matric.
She further informed that the training was completed without any report of Covid cases as all necessary precautions were taken during the training period in view of the Covid pandemic. Metha acknowledged the intervention of the CM, Dy. CM, DGP Nagaland and all the senior officers from PHQ for recognising the services of the instructors.
Earlier, the DGP handed over the trophies and certificates to the awardees of the 66th batch. Awardees were All Round best and Best in Legal studies was bagged by Constable Limasunep Longkumer, Best in weapon handling to Constable Anguvito H. Zhimomi, Best in Drill to Constable Phasenti Magh, Best in physical training to Constable Zuchanthung Tungoe and Best in Turn out went to Constable Khriephreto Meyase.
Vice Principal, NPTS, I Meren Chenth was the Parade commander while CDI, NPTS, ABI Pitongse Sangtam was Parade 2 i/c for the day. ADGP, Renjamo Kikon and other senior police officials also attended the program.
