Chairman for National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK), Venkatesan held a meeting with Nagaland State Government Officials at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Conference Hall, Kohima on 12th October 2021.

          The Chairman stated that there are various schemes and programs in place initiated by the Government of India for the benefit of safai karamcharis and their families. The State Government machineries should work towards creating awareness so that the targeted beneficiaries avail the benefits, he added. He called on the Government to take examples of success stories of other States in the country and look after the welfare of the karamcharis across the State.

          The Chairman also acknowledged the service of the Medial personals, Police, State Government Officials and the safai karamcharis for their active and the sacrifice made during this pandemic.

          It was observed that most of the sanitation works across that state are not aware of the various schemes provided by the Government of India and it was necessary that the workers are made aware and educated so that they can avail the benefits.

The meeting was chaired by Principal Secretary P&AR, Ramakrishnan, IAS while Commissioner & Secretary Sarah R Ritse proposed the vote of thanks.
