Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio along with Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton visited COVID-19 Hospital Zunheboto on 15th May 2020. They were accompanied by Minister Health and Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom, Minister Agriculture, G. Kaito Aye, Advisor School Education, K.T. Sukhalu and Advisor, Tourism, Art and Culture, Khehovi Yepthomi. The Chief Minister inspected the various arrangements made at the hospital like the isolation wards and the newly set up ICU facility.
A meeting was t held at the Deputy Commissioner’s residence with various officers and NGOs representing Sumi Hoho, Sumi Kukami Hoho, Sumi Totimi Hoho among others including church leaders.
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to God for keeping Nagaland safe. We are a testament of his grace and protection, he said stating that even developed countries like the United States and European countries are suffering at the hands of this pandemic. He said that people are not just dying but it is affecting our economies and other critical aspects also. He appreciated everyone for coming forward and working together, especially civil societies, Administration, Police, Medical department and even the opposition. By the grace of God, he said, we are a little more prepared today then we were yesterday.
On the lockdown and the difficulties faced by people in procuring essential items the Chief Minister said that we have to learn how to be self sufficient and everyone must work towards being self reliant.
Deputy CM Y. Patton, who also spoke in the meeting, appreciated and thanked civil societies for their full cooperation and support.
