The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio accompanied by his cabinet colleagues, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom and Minister, Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu, visited the Quarantine Centre at Meriema and Covid-19 Hospital at NHAK on 1st April 2020 to review the preparedness for management and containment of COVID-19.

At Meriema quarantine facility, he encouraged the Health personnel to intensify their effort on the preparedness and to be very careful in managing such pandemic especially in cities like Kohima and Dimapur. He also reminded the officials in-charge to look into the welfare of the working personnel at the health facility. He also emphasized on maintaining a cleaner environment in and around the facility by painting the walls, planting trees etc., which will only improve the neighbourhood in the future.

At NHAK, the Chief Minister stressed on cleanliness and maintenance of good drainage system at the hospital premises and reminded Department to put forward proposals for any requirement towards improving the health system at NHAK. He appreciated the doctors on their hard work towards their service to mankind.
