The Chumoukedima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting under the chairmanship of Advisor, Sericulture Excise & Minority Affairs and vice chairman DPDB, Zhaleo Rio at the Conference Hall, Chumoukedima on 6th September 2022.
The meeting reviewed the last meeting minutes followed by deliberation of the registration of Biblical Leadership Institute, Dhansirpar. During the meeting, Zhaleo Rio highlighted the activities plan to the respective departments and requested them to prepare a vision document and plan for the new district within September and present their Department's vision in the next DPDB meeting.
After the meeting discussion, a felicitation programme was held in honor of Chumoukedima districts for the Olympic contingent, where Advisor, Sericulture Excise & Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, and MLA, Azheto Zhimomi felicitated the Olympic contingents. Altogether 122 participants participated from the Chumoukedima district in the Olympics and won 1 Gold medal, 12 Silver, and 13 Bronze medals.
In his short speech, Zhaleo Rio congratulated the Olympic contingents and said the youths have the potential to do better, he appealed to the sportsperson to practice mentally & physically and maintain consistency and disciplined. He stated that this achievement is just a beginning under a new district and he is positive that with trained coaches and good players they will achieve greater heights.
He also wished the State team who have been selected for the North East Olympic Games to put in their hard work, maintain discipline, be committed, and be diligent as they are representing not only as an individual but also representing the State.
MLA, Azheto Zhimomi, in his short speech congratulated the winners and wish them success in their future endeavors. Sports can't be given away by anyone but it's the individual who earns by themselves, he said. He appealed to respective individuals, sports officers, and district officers to give support to sportspersons to let them shine.
The felicitation programme was chaired by Chef de Mission, cmd, Er. Seyiekhrietuo Solo. The invocation was pronounced by Associate Pastor Women, cmd Ao Baptist Arogo, Imotila Longkumer. Welcome address and a short report on Nagaland Olympics & Paralympic Games 2022 were delivered by District Team Manager, Cmd, Vitouto Kuotsu. Special number by Neila.
