The District Agriculture Office building at Tuensang was inaugurated by Agriculture Production Commissioner, Y. Kikheto Sema on 8th Feb 2022. The programme was attended by Agri and allied officials from the directorate and the district and GBs. 

Speaking on the occasion, the special guest said the state government has been focusing on the construction of the office buildings of the state departments based on loans and state plans, DAO office building was constructed out of the state plan. He also asked the officials of Agri and allied departments to work together tirelessly to bring out good organic Agri products. Our prospect for larger industries is limited but our Agri and allied products can boost our economy. He said the soil testing of the state is underway and we are waiting for suitable biofertilizers to aid for every variety of soil to extract the maximum advantages along with technical and technological support. The main target of the Agri and Allied Departments is to focus on exporting our organic products which have a good place in today’s market, and also finding more markets aside from our home markets should be our vision, he added. The churches of the state can also disseminate information and educate the people about the Agri and allied sectors.

          The technical report of the new building construction was given by Er. Achakbou Newmai, Superintendent Engineer Agriculture while a short speech was delivered by B. Nyenghong Phom, Additional Director Agriculture. The programme was chaired by K. Showuba Yimchunger, DAO Tuensang and the vote of thanks by Wongto Chingmak, SDAO Tuensang.
