2nd day of Poanglum Mini Hornbill 2022 continued with Indigenous games and Poanglum Fashion Show on 12th Jan 2022 at parade ground Tuensang. The special guest of the Indigenous games celebration was ShamiAngh, President Phom Peoples’ Council.
Frontier Royal Enfield En-Block (FREE) escorted the special guest of the programme and a ride in solidarity to the victims of Oting incident and for repeal of AFSPA from Nagaland .
Speaking on the occasion, ShamiAngh said Tuensang has been known to the people since the time of Indian Independence and Chang being an owner are like a mother to all the tribes of the Eastern Nagaland. He appreciated the forefathers of Changs for guiding and leading them to be who they are today. He also mentioned that celebration of culture and tradition in such a huge manner should lead not us astray from the religious principle of our community. Our community leaders had a vision for us therefore we should also choose our leaders wisely so that we will have brighter future tomorrow, he said.
The winners of the Naga Happung (Go-Kart) competition were bagged by Thungti and Kusang of Saksi colony; BesoYemjong and Langpong of Saksi colony and Namang and LembaofTaknyu village as second and third respectively. In the Log Drum beating Competition 1st Position was bagged by C/KhelTuensang village and 2nd Position by P/KhelTuensang Village
