The 2nd quarterly meeting of National TB Elimination Program (NTEP), National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP) and District Aids Prevention and Control Committee (DAPCC) was convened today 14th September 2021 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan IAS, in the conference Hall of DC Dimapur.

In the meeting, Rajesh lauded the medical department for working actively in all the 3 programmes while striving to achieve the target objectives, with all mechanisms/ infrastructure set in place. He impressed upon them to give more focus on creating awareness in sensitising the people so that the efforts of setting up infrastructures would not go defeated. Rajesh encouraged the health workers to continue to work with renewed vigour, focussing more on awareness programmes. While informing that Dimapur district is continuing with the smoke free campaign, DC Dimapur advised the officials of NTCP for highlighting the measures to be put in place to the HODs during the next DPDB meeting, to make smoke free offices.

Acknowledging the important role of churches for creating community awareness, Rajesh advised them to capitalise on the pro- active church members. 

From the district administration, SDO (C) development and EAC development would be the nodal officers for all the 3 programmes, he informed.

He encouraged one and all for working together in unison for ensuring that all the programmes are implemented successfully in the district.

While delivering the welcome note, CMO Dimapur, Dr Moatemjen, also explained in brief about NTEP, NTCP and DAPCC. Objectives of TB Forum was highlighted to the members by official of the department.

Objectives of Smoke free District Headquarters campaign and activities report was presented by Dr. Reyosalu Kase, DNO, NTCP Dimapur while DPO, DAPCC Dimapur briefed on the objectives of New India @75 to the District Level committee and also presented on the scenario of HIV& AIDS.

Other highlights of the program included testimonials by cured patients and felicitation to Maova village Dimapur by DC Dimapur for adopting Tobacco free Village guidelines of NTCP.

Representatives from Christian Forum and All Nagaland Private School Association also spoke in the meeting and noted that participation of organisations and NGOs are required for tackling any problem that exists in a society.
