As laid down in the SOP issued by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India dated 15/03/2020 and Home Department Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority letter NO.NSDMA-ER-COVID-19/302/2020, Dated 13 April, 2020, DC Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS has informed that the following points may be taken note by all concerned:

  1. The identified dead bodies will be handed over to the relatives for proper burial after taking all infection control measures by the concerned hospital.
  2. The unclaimed dead bodies will be taken over by the SDRF for proper disposal. However, in circumstances where the relatives are not in a position to take a COVII) Positive Dead body due to various constraints such as financial, logistics etc. the SDRF shall assist in disposing the dead body.
  3. In the case of needy or poor families who are not in a position to pay any incidental cost of disposing the dead bodies, the District Task Force shall bear the expense/cost for the same.
