DC Kohima Shanavas C, IAS has informed that due to the detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) in various locations in Kohima district, the following areas have been notified as: 

A.        (i)         Infected Zones: Viswema and I km radius

(ii)        Surveillance Zone: Jakhama, Khuzama, Kigwema, Kidima, Kezoma, Phesama, Pfuchama, Mima and Mitelephe

B.        (i)         Infected Zone: Dzülekie and 1 km radius

(ii)        Surveillance Zone: Khonoma

C.        (i)         Infected Zone: Dzürüzu near KMC Dumping Site (New Meriema) and 1 km

radius

(ii)        Surveillance Zone: Meriema, Old and New Tsiesema, High School Area Kohima.

In this regard, the Order also stated that the following restrictions are to be strictly adhered to in the aforementioned locations until further notice.

1. Ban on the slaughter of pigs
2. Ban on import and export of pigs and piglets
3. Ban on Transportation of pigs and pork
