In connection with report of the death of animals such as Mithun, cattles, goats in some parts of the district and suspected to be an outbreak of Anthrax which is zoonotic and possess public health hazard the Deputy Commissioner Longleng, M. Shayung Phom has informed in an order that selling/slaughter of mithun, cattles, goat and import of the aforementioned animals is banned in the district with immediate effect until further order.

Necessary action against defaulters shall be initiated as per the prevention and control of infectious and contagious diseases in Animal Act 2009 and other relevant sections of law.
