Deputy Commissioner, Noklak informed that the World Environment Day 2021 shall be commemorated only by organizing online programmes through virtual means by Forest Department. Hence, no mass plantation drive shall be undertaken at Noklak Hq in view of the existing lockdown and prevailing Covid situation. 

Distribution of saplings by Forest Department shall be done through Police Department and Assam Riffles. While plantation drive shall be conducted only at a later stage depending on the covid-19 situation in the District. The arrangement has been done in the interest of safeguarding public health.
