Under the theme "The Common Journey of Motor & Adventure Sports & Tourism in North-East India", NAMSA & FAMSANE organized a dedicatory function of NAMSA Complex & NE Adventure & Motorsports Conclave on 12th March 2022, at Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence, Sovima, Chumoukedima.
Special Guest, Advisor K .T Sukhalu thanked the Motor Sports Association for the tremendous effort that they have put in to make a platform for the youths. He encouraged the young people to avail the facilities made available to them and pave a way that will make North East India a centre of sports excellence.
Further, he urged the Naga sportsperson not to depend only on government services but to have sheer discipline, dedication, determination in pursuing their interests. He wished MAMSA & the entire NE Association representatives of the States to continue the collaboration and develop Motorsports in the North East.
President FAMSANE, Asso. Vice president, Athletics Federation of India & Advisor to CM, Abu Metha, while delivering the keynote address said that the vision of the State Government and vision of sports policy is to create such facilities which will not only enable Nagaland to hold multi-sports events but also to use these facilities to produce champions in the future. He mentioned that sports today is no longer a hobby but a science, a profession, and a career, it is an industry that runs into billions of dollars, it is an activity of human beings that is most viewed on the planet.
He said that Sports unites the human race, sports is a unifying power, sports exemplify the energy, the vibrancy, and ambition of young people across the globe. He highlighted that motorsports & adventure have organized State, National, and International competitions in the last two decades which have brought some of the best motorsports talents from around the country to Nagaland to participate and display their talents.
Metha added that we have to synchronize and sensitize motorsports with Tourism. Motorsports adventure sports is a part of tourism, and it will create a positive impact on our economy, generate employment.
The dedicatory function was chaired by Kuputo Shohe; Invocation was pronounced by Pastor Town Baptist Church, Dimapur, Rev. Vilodi Sakhrie; Special Number by Kimatsung Jamir; Powerpoint presentation was presented by Lima Imsong; while vote of thanks was delivered by President, NAMSA, Vikishe Shohe.
