One day district level Inter-High School literary competition in essay writing and quiz on the topic “The internet created to be a change” and “Different forms of addiction among students” was organised by the department of youth Resources and Sports was conducted at Lower Forest colony Community Hall, on 3rd March 2021.
During the programme District Youth Resource Officer Chubarenla Longchari in her introductory speech said that the Inter-High School literary competition aims in broadening and enhancing the students’ commutative skills, their verbal and written skills and expression. She also encouraged the students whether you win or lose, both ways you are going home with more knowledge or something perhaps you didn't know. “Winner is just a title and fades away but the knowledge is what you gain” she added.
Schools participating in the competition included Chandmari Hr. Sec. School, Mt. Hermon, Stella Hr. Sec. School and Northfield. The judges were Dr. Moaakum Kichu Asst. Prof. Dept. Of Botany Kohima Science College and Mrs. K. Alibo Achumi Asst. Prof. Dept. Of Sociology St. Joseph's College Jakhama.
The result of the essay competition are as follows:
Emao M. Lam from Chandmari Hr. Sec. School bagged first while Hisinle Kemp from Stella Hr. Sec. School and Kechanei-u Huozha from Northfeild bagged second and third respectively.
In the quiz competition the first position was bagged by the Mt. Hermon School, while in the second and third position stood Northfield and Stella Hr. Sec School respectively
