District Public Relations officer Dimapur, Lolano Patton formally launched the masks distribution programme to the masses in the streets of Dimapur, initiated by Tir Yimyim a leading Ao vernacular paper from Nagaland, on 9th December 2020 from Super Market Dimapur.

Speaking on the occasion, Patton lauded Tir Yimyim family led by its editor and publisher, K.Temjen Jamir for taking the lead in taking the extra initiative for the cause of humanity, besides educating the people about COVID 19 through its print coverage. Indeed it is a proud moment for the entire press fraternity, she commented.

She further mentioned that COVID 19 would be there for a long time until a proper vaccine is found and said, " As responsible citizens we should keep on reminding the masses not to be complacent but to compulsorily follow the three golden rules to stay away from COVID 19 for the safety of oneself as well as for the safety of others.

Editor and Publisher Tir Yimyim, said that the masks distribution programme could be initiated through the contribution of the readers and well wishers. He said that the washable cotton masks stitched by the differently abled persons would be distributed in the streets of Dimapur covering Super market, G.S Market, Church road and New market. Masks would be distributed to the people walking in the streets without masks and also to those who are using disposable masks, he added. Youth Pastor DABA, invoked God's blessings.
