Sensitization workshop on addressing substance use- Prevention and Treatment was organized by Social welfare Department in collaboration with ARK Foundation and Bethesda YWC on 19th February 2021at Bhandari town hall .

The programme was conducted with representatives and delegates from the civil society organizations, NGOs, drug users and host of dignitaries where the resource persons deliberated on various subject matters concerning substance use and the role of the local shareholder. 

SDO (C) Bhandari, Sulanthung appealed to the young people to abstain from drug and tobacco products which affect our health mentally, physically and spiritually. He also said that due to addictions many drop out students are ignored by their own families and society. 

President ARK Foundation, Ketho Angami spoke on Understanding Drug Use, its three prone strategies, Drug use and the Law, Prevention and treatment. Executive Director Bethesda YWC, W.C. Humtsoe spoke on the issue of substance use at Bhandari Area. Moang Jamir apprised on the role of stakeholders and Challenges/Issues related to drug abuse and alcoholism,

Conclusion Remarks was given by Asst Director & Nodal Officer Drugs Department of Social Welfare, K.Wango Langsym. CDPO Bhandari, T.Y Peter Yanthan, chaired the programme.
