The District Task Force members Dimapur held a meeting today 1st June 2020, and resolved to reduce market timing from 9 am to 2 pm from the present 9am to 4 pm slot for the safety and interest of the public in general. The meeting resolved that for the time being, malls, showrooms, restaurants will be completely closed including take away restaurant services. Further, the meeting also decided the timing for hardware shops to open from 6 am to 10 am.
In the meeting, some members while appreciating the successful odd and even exercise for easing traffic, also resolved that traffic movement even with odd and even should be strictly allowed till 2 pm except the exempted categories and requested the police for strict monitoring.
With the maximum number of COVID 19 positive cases admitted at Dimapur COVID Hospital, the DTF Dimapur members felt for urgent need to keep buffer stock of ventilators, monitors, regulators, and for which it was decided that DC Dimapur would write officially to the higher authority for action to be taken. Further, the members decided that incase of emergency, Plan B would be for identification of alternative COVID 19 Hospital for Dimapur district, and for which letter would be written to the Government at the earliest. The members also deliberated on the need for installing Truenat machines at Dimapur for more testings in a day, as more special trains would be arriving this week and presently the samples from Dimapur are sent to Kohima and Dibrugarh.
Deputy Commissioner Dimapur informed that there was no positive cases detected during the last 24 hours and observed that situation would be fine. Informing that all positive patients are stable and healthy, Anoop advised people not to panic but to be disciplined and sincerely follow social distancing, hand hygiene and to mandatorily wear mouth covering nose and mouth. Anoop said that the most important task was to see contain the spread in the quarantine centers with strict protocols. Emphasising on the importance of sanitising the Quarantine centers and Agri Expo, Anoop assured for all logistic support if required. Briefing on the status of Quarantine centers, DC Dimapur informed that presently there are 46 Quarantine centers at Dimapur with 4085 beds. Further, the Quarantine center at Ganeshnagar would be able to accommodate 1000 returnees, DC informed. On the status of BSL 2, Anoop informed that it will take another 15 to 20 days or so to get it commissioned.
Chief Medical officer Dimapur, Dr.Tia Pongener, informed the members that presently they are focussing on the passengers of Chennai train and trying to isolate the inmates. As of now, 189 of them has been shifted in the isolation centers and kept in separate rooms with attached bathroom, Dr.Tia felt the need for encouraging and motivating people in the isolation centers for avoiding community transmission.
DMC Dimapur, Albert Ezung informed the members that besides carrying out the normal routine of collection and disposal of garbages, sanitisation team has been undertaking additional responsibilities. This is in view of the fact that Sanitation is directly related to public health and so there is no compromise, he maintained. He also informed that all the 46 quarintine centers are sprayed with disinfectant before and after the returnee’s occupation. Further, waste are also collected from all the quarantine centers, he informed.
MS Dimapur, Dr.Kheshito informed that presently 25 positive COVID 19 patients are admitted at Dimapur COVID hospital. He also felt the urgent need for purchasing the dialysis machine and for installing the same at Dimapur COVID Hospital. Further, MS Dimapur highlighted on the urgent requirements for COVID 19 Hospital Dimapur.
The members also deliberated on the need for creating more awareness amongst the public for following the three golden rules to contain the pandemic.
