The Election Commission of India, led by the Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, conducted a press conference at Hotel de Oriental Grand, Kohima on 14th January 2023.

The panel highlighted various initiatives and programs taken up by the Commission to conduct elections with the highest standard of transparency, accountability and credibility. The media personnel were also briefed on the steps and measures initiated by the Commission to promote clean and fair election. It also appealed to all the eligible voters to participate in the electoral process. It was informed that for the 60 Assembly Constituencies in Nagaland, there are 13,09,651 electors, where 6,53,616 are male while 6,56,035 are female. It added that there are 6,970 PwD electors, 1,675 centenarian (100+) electors and 30,049 first time voters (18-19).

Other officials who attended the press conference included Election Commissioners, Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goel; Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, V. Shashank Shekhar and officials from the ECI and CEO Nagaland.
