Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Noklak K. Mhathung Tsanglao,  in exercise of the powers conferred by virtue of section  144 Cr.P.C has issued an order as a measure of emergency that any gathering/assembly or 5 or more persons in the district is prohibited.

The order shall not apply to:

        i.            The Police or Para-military or military persons or any other Government Servant on official duties, including Polling Parties proceeding to and returning from polling duties.

      ii.            House to House visits during 48 hrs in connection to Door-to-Door campaigning.

The Order shall come into force from 4:00 PM on 25/02/2023 and shall be effective up to 12:00 midnight of 28/02/2023.

In view of the emergent requirement, the order is passed ex-parte and is addressed to the public in general. Any breach on this order would invite action under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant provisions of law.
