ENFORCEMENT DRIVE ON SALE OF TOBACCO AT MON

For the effective implementation of COTPA 2003 at Mon, an Enforcement drive on sale of tobacco products within 100 yards of educational institutions was carried out under National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP) on 22nd July 2021 at Mon. The team consisted of representatives from District Administration, Excise department, Police department and Konyak Student Union (KSU) Mon. The team was led by District Nodal Officer, NTCP Mon, Dr. I. Simon Sumi and  District Consultant, NTCP Mon, Nyeamying Konyak. 

               29 shops around the educational institutions under Mon Town were found selling tobacco products and were penalized. The team seized the products and later destroyed the items at the dumping area.
