A five-day intensive export-oriented training began on 21st March 2022 for the first batch of 25 entrepreneurs from Nagaland at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Kolkata. The training is facilitated through the Export Facilitation Cell (EFC) of the IIFT Kohima which was launched by Chief Minister Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio on 17th November 2021.
The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Vice Chancellor, IIFT, Prof. Manoj Pant and CEO, Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Alemtemshi Jamir. The entrepreneurs will visit the Sea port, Kolkata and Customs offices besides their classroom sessions to get a first-hand experience on export oriented activities.
The EFC is set up at the IDAN, and is the first of its kind in the entire North Eastern region, sponsored by North Eastern Council (NEC), in collaboration with the IDAN to facilitate and handhold local entrepreneurs looking at exports as a business opportunity.
