Film Association of Nagaland (FAN) will be organising an online short film competition with the topic, “The New Normal”.
At a press conference held at East Gate Hotel, Kohima, on 11th October 2021, General Secretary, FAN, Yapangnaro stated that the short film competition will be open for everyone and is not restricted to professionals. She said that the theme, the new normal, has been chosen as to adapt to a new way of life and a new way of making films post Covid-19 pandemic. She added that the Association plans to announce the results during the Nagaland Film Festival, 2021, which is proposed to be held during the Hornbill Festival.
President, FAN, KiviniShohe said that the purpose of the competition is to encourage young people to make serious content. She stated that they are hoping for people to share their untold stories, especially of the pandemic experience. She added that FAN plans to promote story tellers even the coming days to come.
Representing the Department of Information & Public Relations, the Nodal Department for films in Nagaland, Joint Director, AsanglaImsong updated on the Department’s activities relating to films. She informed that the third edition of the Nagaland Film Festival is proposed to be held during the Hornbill Festival, 2021 if the pandemic situation subsides. Imsong added that the Department is currently drafting the film policy of the State, which will be drafted keeping in mind of the conditions of the film industry State.
The period of submission for the competition is from 12th October till 12th November 2021. The winner will walk away with ₹25,000 & certificate. The second and the third position will be awarded ₹15,000 & certificate and ₹ 10,000 & certificate respectively.
The Terms and conditions are:
- Maximum length: 10 minutes
- Maximum file size: 700 MB
- Film can be shot on phone or video camera
- The contest will be open to all citizens of Nagaland except members of FAN
- Language of the Film shall be in English or in any vernacular with English subtitles
- Film Submissions can be made through the email
- Contestants should fully & unconditionally be bound to the terms and conditions of the contest.
The competition is being organised collaboration with the Department of Information & Public Relations and Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA).
