Financial Inclusion Literacy program was held at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire, on 12th October 2021, funded by NEC Aspirational District program.
Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire T. Wati Aier in his welcome note highlighted about its importance and how to avail the schemes to the public leaders. He mentioned that it is an equality opportunity to be able to access financial services. Any business or individual can access appropriate affordable and timely financial products and services. He mentioned that various activities are carried out in the villages by the department of Agriculture, Horticulture, LRD and so on for the benefit of the villagers. Aier said the VDBs should play a vital role in developing the entire village and urged them to be alert inorder to avail the program because many program are there in different departments but public are not aware of that.
Branch Manager SBI Kiphire highlighted on some of the schemes like PMSBY & APY. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) is a scheme offering accident insurance cover for death and disability (both partial and total) on account of an accident. The insurance scheme is for one year cover subject to annual renewal. The insurance cover is for Rs.2 Lakhs (maximum) under the scheme.All operative account holders including saving Bank accounts, current accounts with sanctioned / approved OD limits, KCC in the age of group of 18 to 70 years will be entitled to join the scheme.
Atal Pension Yojana, (APJ) is also open to all bank account holders. The central Government would also co-contribute 50%of the total contribution or Rs.1000 per annum, which ever is lower, to each eligible subscriber, for a period of five years. The minimum age of joining APY is 18 years and maximum age is 40 years.
LDM, SBI Kiphire shared the (PMJJBY) Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana. It is a scheme offering life insurance cover of death due to any reasons. Age group of 18 to 50 years will be entitled to join the scheme. The scheme is for one year cover subject to annual renewal. The insurance cover is for 2 Lacs (maximum) under the scheme.
Later ADC Kiphire, Rahul Mali IAS stressed on the importance of Aadhar card & Ujwala service, a scheme of providing free LPG to every women. He urged the village chairmen and the VDBs to disseminate the message to every women in the village in order to avail the Ujwala scheme.
The program was attended by the village chairmen, VDB secretaries, GBs, Gunburas and village leaders. Vote of thanks was proposed by EAC Kiphire, Chumben Murry.
