Former State Chaplain Reverend Yankey Patton passed away on 28th January 2020 (Friday evening) around 2:25 pm at his residence at Diphupar, Dimapur. 

The funeral service of Late Rev. Yankey Patton will be conducted on Sunday, 30th January at 9:00 am at Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar.

Born in the year 1927 on 15th March, Rev. Yankey Patton served as the first State Chaplain in 1989, and continued serving as the State Chaplain for around fourteen (14) years from 1989 to March 2003. He also served as the Police Chaplain for two (2) years (1987 to 1988).

His wife predeceased him in the year 2014. He is survived by his son Nchumbemo Patton, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
