The Hans Foundation donated nine Mobile Medical Units to Mon District on 4th April 2022 in a function held at Council Hall, Mon.

Advisor for Social Welfare, Home Guards and Civil Defence, Noke Wangnao expressed appreciation to the Hans Foundation on behalf of all the elected members from the district for bringing the project to the District.

DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS, highlighted the past activities and works done by Hans Foundation in the District.

Speeches were given by the Health and Family Welfare Department, representatives from KU, KNSK, KSU, and KBBB. They expressed gratitude to the Hans Foundation and the District Administration led by the DC under whose leadership many such initiatives were undertaken.

COO of The Hans Foundation, Brig. Shalendra S. Katariya urged the Hans workers to make sure that the service reaches the last household in the District.

The programme was chaired by Kalyan Barua and attended by Minister for Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Y.M.Yollow Konyak, MLA CL John and Eshak Konyak, SP Mon, Administrative Officers, Officers from Health and Family Welfare and other Departments, including NGOs and Civil Societies.

The MMUs are all-terrain 4x4 customized ambulances aimed at reaching all the villages in Mon District to provide basic primary health care, generic medicines, and laboratory services in the rural setup at a subsidized rate.

Out of the nine MMUs, four will be stationed at Mon Hq, two at Tizit, two at Aboi, and one at Tobu and will visit all the villages in the District once a month. Each MMU will have a Qualified Doctor, ANM, Pharmacist, Lab Technician, Social Development Officer, and Driver with a total of 54 employees for all the 9 MMUs who would be managed by the Foundation.

The MMUs will be officially flagged off by the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio on 6th April 2022.
