The Hans Foundation team in Mon District felicitated the Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS on 11th June 2022 in a function organized to bid farewell to the outgoing DC.

Speaking on the occasion, DC lauded the contribution of The Hans Foundation to the District. He recalled how an Advance Life Support donated by the foundation during the peak of Covid has been helping save lives. He further mentioned that a team of over 50; consisting of Doctors, Paramedic staff, social workers, and drivers of the Mobile Medical Units launched in the District recently are establishing a very good relationship with the community and are taking basic health care to the doorstep of the people. He also highlighted that with the construction of a new PHC in the border and remote village of Pessao and CHC Tizit by the Hans Foundation, the health care delivery in the district will reach a new horizon.

Program Manager, Hans Foundation, Kalyan Barua, thanked the DC for his support in the endeavors of the Foundation and wished him luck in his new role. He recalled the DC's capabilities in managing the administrative issues towards the development of the District and also bringing constructive reforms to the healthcare sector in the District.

As a mark of gratitude, the foundation presented him with a souvenir.

It is noteworthy that they start operating 9 Mobile Medical Units in the District. The foundation has also taken up CHC Tizit and PHC Pessao. While completely new infrastructure is coming up at Pessao and is expected to be operational by March 2023. At CHC Tizit, major improvements are being undertaken by the foundation and when fully functional, these will have a major positive impact on health care in the District.
