A farewell programme for the outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Vineet Kumar, IAS, and a welcoming ceremony for the incoming Deputy Commissioner, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, NCS, was held at the DC’s Conference Hall, Wokha, on April 17, 2026.  

In his farewell speech, Vineet Kumar expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to the people of Wokha for their love, kindness, and support during his tenure. He acknowledged the cooperation extended by government departments, civil society organizations, and the staff of the DC office, noting that successful execution of work was possible only through collective effort.

He also thanked the four elected legislators of Wokha district for their guidance and support, and appreciated the blessings and kindness showered upon his family by the Lotha community. Kumar described his stay in Wokha as a cherished memory that would remain in his heart forever. Extending best wishes to his successor, he hoped that the new DC would have a smooth tenure and continue the work with dedication and swiftness.  

Incoming Deputy Commissioner, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, who previously served as DC Meluri, acknowledged and thanked Vineet Kumar for his service and sacrifices, honoring his achievements and contributions to the district. He assured that the people of Wokha would forever cherish Kumar’s good work and the example he set.

Tsanglao expressed gratitude for the warm welcome accorded to him and pledged to serve the people of Wokha with sincerity and commitment. He appealed to all Heads of Departments, civil society organizations, and stakeholders for cooperation in ensuring smooth administration, and affirmed his dedication to the upliftment and progress of the district.  

Speeches were also delivered on behalf of various groups: ADC Headquarters Renbomo Ezung, ADC Bhandari Longasen, DPRO Wokha Lolano Patton, on behalf of HoDs Wokha, Chairman of Lotha Hoho, Er. Mhondamo Ovung, Ministerial Staff representative Augustine Odyuo, Dobashi representative Mhabemo Murry, Lotha Officers Association (LOA) Wokha Unit representative Er. Benrithung Kithan, DFO Wokha Suman Shivashankar Sivachar and Medical Superintendent Wokha N. Mhonchan Kithan. Each speaker highlighted the contributions of Vineet Kumar and extended best wishes to the incoming DC. 

The outgoing DC Vineet Kumar has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Finance and IDAN, while the new DC K. Mhathung Tsanglao takes charge of Wokha district. The programme was chaired by EAC Wokha, Sangmou Khiamniungan, who also delivered the vote of thanks.
