In an official order, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tening, T. Lemlila Sangtam brought attention to the presence of swine flu in Tening Town. Despite this, it has been observed that citizens continue to slaughter, buy, and sell pork meat within and around Tening Town, posing a significant health risk to consumers. To address this issue, the ADC has issued a directive instructing both butchers and citizens to immediately cease the butchering, purchasing, and selling of pork meat in the vicinity of Tening Town.

Failure to comply with this order will result in an on-the-spot penalty of Rs. 10,000 (ten thousand), along with the potential cancellation of trade licenses. This directive will be effective from August 28, 2023, until further notice.
