Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu, Dr. Zasekuolue Chusi, IAS has issued a circular stating that it came to notice the unauthorized occupation/encroachment and haphazard disposal of debris/construction materials/having been indiscriminately dumped/kept at different locations along the National highway-2 under Tseminyu district jurisdiction which not only obstructed the seamless flow of traffic but also poses threat to the life of the commuters and inhabitants along the aforementioned highway.
The office had earlier issued directives vide No.DCT/PWD/NH/2/2022 dated 11th February 2022 and 3rd December 2022, requiring all the concerned persons to remove such obstructing materials/debris lying along the NH-2 into the areas stretching from Henbenji to K.Station/Kandinu village under Tseminyu district jurisdiction. In pursuance of sections, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 31, 38, 39 & 42 of the control of National highways (Land & traffic) Act 2002 and in the interest of public safety, all concerned have been directed to remove any encroachment and obstructing materials/debris along the aforementioned areas/location within five days from the date failing which stringent measures shall be initiated against the defaulters and the materials would be confiscated.
