As part of the ongoing nationwide Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, the “Har Ghar Tiranga" Exhibition 2026, campaign begins at Kohima on 10th August 2026, a collaborative initiative between the Department of Art & Culture and Home Department. This initiative serves as a formal call to all citizens to bring the Tiranga into their homes and hoist it with pride to commemorate India’s Independence. Beyond a symbolic gesture, the campaign aims to foster a deeply personal connection with the National Flag, presenting it as a powerful embodiment of our collective commitment to unity and nation-building. This year, the campaign simultaneously celebrates the 150th anniversary of the spirit of India's National song, “Vande Mataram’. All citizens are encouraged to participate in this momentous occasion and celebrate our shared heritage.
The inauguration event was graced by Kuko Mero, IAS, Secretary Home, as the Special guest. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted that Har Ghar Tiranga is a national campaign designed to showcase the unity, strength, and integrity of the nation. He emphasized that the Tiranga Exhibition is a core component of the broader Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 initiative, which will be accompanied by a series of commemorative activities in the coming days.
The official program was chaired by Kr. Temjenjungla, Assistant Archivist, Department of Art & Culture. The event witnessed the presence of several senior government officials, including Elizabeth Ngullie, Secretary, Home Department, Bodeno S Colo, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Department of Art & Culture, Adela Moa, Director, Department of Art & Culture, officers and staff from Department of Art & Culture & Home Department.

The curated exhibition, located at Gate No. 1 of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, is designed to immerse visitors in our rich historical heritage and evoke a deep sense of patriotic pride. Students, citizens and all members of the public are invited to explore the displays and actively participate in the celebrations. To help visitors capture the spirit of the occasion, dedicated Photo Booths have been installed at two key locations:
1. Gate No. 1, Nagaland Civil Secretariat (Main Exhibition Venue)
2. The State Museum.
Visitors are highly encouraged to take photographs and selfies with the National Flag at these booths and upload these images directly to the official Har Ghar Tiranga portal.
